AgriRestore is a research initiative funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and led by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, focused on restoring biodiversity and climate resilience in agricultural landscapes.
It combines field studies, remote sensing, and data analysis to evaluate ecological restoration strategies, especially in dry and intensively farmed areas like Saxony-Anhalt.

The challenge: We solved the challenge of outdated branding and the absence of a website by creating a fresh, cohesive brand identity for AgriRestore. Starting from scratch, we redesigned the logo, defined new fonts, colors, and a comprehensive design system. Most importantly, we developed a website that clearly presents the research, making the project accessible and engaging for both experts and the public.

The Design Process: Our design process began with exploring multiple logo concepts and visual directions, each rooted in the project's connection to sustainable agriculture landscapes. After selecting a direction, we presented two homepage designs and refined the chosen one into a fully functional website, which then served as the style guide for all remaining pages. Inspired by natural forms, the design features rounded corners, soft colors, and a clean layout that reflects the project's ecological focus while ensuring clarity and ease of use.

Color Palette: The color palette combines soft blues and warm beige tones, inspired by the natural hues found in the bloom of local flowers. These colors reflect the project's ecological roots and bring a sense of calm and harmony to the overall design.

Typography: For typography, we chose Reathink Sans and Noto Sans for their clarity, ease of use, and high readability across devices. These widely recognized fonts are commonly used in scientific contexts, making them a practical and familiar choice for our target audience of researchers and academics.
