The Southern Ridge 

The Southern Ridge is a 10 kilometre stretch where you can stroll amidst the trees and experience large range of flora and fauna within the Ridge.  The Ridge offers one of the most picturesque views of the city southern island and harbour. The Ridge is spread across an open space on a hill where Singapore’s most popular parks and gardens are located. The Ridge is well connected by path ways. It basically connects two hill tops where you get to walk between these two hills at a great height.  

The Ridge is made up of the Hort Park, the Labrador Nature Reserve, The Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park. It is quite famous amongst bird lovers. The birds fly around freely in their natural habitats. Make sure to carry your cameras along. You can also go on a hike and you will be treated to a serene view of the magnificent skyline of Singapore. The Ridge has great historic importance associated with it. It is frequently visited by the locals and tourists as it has a one of a kind wavy structure. The Ridge also features canopy walk and a forest walk.  If you look around carefully you will see a great variety of different kinds of flora and fauna. The bridge is open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily – seven days a week.

Bukit Tima Nature Reserve

Experience the best that the nature has to offer at the Bukit Tima Nature Reserve. It is located only 12 kms away from the city of Singapore and is completely disconnected from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is considered to be Singapore’s most diverse and Asia’s richest ecological system. You will come across distinctive varieties of animals, plants and insects. Spread across 163 hectares of land, Singapore’s highest hill – the Bulkit Timah Hill is also located here. The iconic part of this hill is on top of it where there is a huge botanical collection of various Malayan plants. The Reserve is famous amongst nature lovers. 40 percent of the nature’s reserves of Singapore are found here. The most noteworthy point of this reserve is that it is connected to the neighbouring catchment area through the newly designed Eco link. The Eco link is a one of a kind Ecological Bridge which spans across 62 metres in length. The Bridge was established keeping in mind smooth transition of habitats from the two nature reserves. 

Public Bus Nos. 67, 75 and 171 will take you to Bukit Tima Nature Reserve.
