Description

The 5 elements of plot are exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Exposition introduces the characters, setting, and basic situation of the story. Rising action builds tension through events and conflicts that move the story forward. The climax is the turning point where the main conflict reaches its highest intensity. Falling action shows the consequences of the climax and begins to resolve the conflict. Finally, the resolution (or denouement) wraps up the story by showing the outcome and tying up loose ends, giving the reader a sense of closure.
